The definition of a mnemonic is; a system such as a pattern of letters, ideas, or associations which assists in remembering something.

For example:

My Very Elderly Mother Just Sleeps Until Night Passes

You can see from the highlighted letters that they are the initial letters of the planets.

Mercury – Venus – Earth – Mars – Jupiter – Saturn – Uranus – Neptune – Pluto

Try to make your mnemonic interesting but most importantly a good way for you to remember the order of the planets. You can present your mnemonic with appropriate illustrations too. Homework to be returned by next Tuesday.

The planets you can choose from are:

· The planet where time goes backwards;

· The planet where everything goes wrong;

· The planet where everything is black or white;

· The planet where it always rains;

· The planet without a day or night;

· The planet where people are tiny.

You have to write about a day on the planet you choose. Start it at breakfast time and finish when you get to bed.
