How are lessons delivered in schools – are they individual or in groups?

For our school lessons, we offer tuition in both formats. Students and parents can choose either individual lessons or lessons in small groups of 2 or 3 students. The group lessons are cheaper than individual lessons. When signing up for lessons in schools, you will receive 34 lessons over the course of the full school year. If you sign up part-way through the year, you will get a pro-rata number of lessons, charged at a pro-rata tuition fee rate too.

When will my lessons start?

If you signed up for School Lessons during the summer registration period, your lessons will start in the first few weeks of term, in September. If you have subsequently signed up since then, your lessons will start within 1-2 weeks of you completing the registration form. This is to allow us time to make suitable arrangements with our tutors and their timetables, as well as coordinating with schools where necessary.

How do I pay for lessons?

As part of the registration process, you will have created an account with SpeedAdmin - our online portal for coordinating teaching, timetabling, communication and payments. Parents / Guardians or Adult Students will be able to login to their accounts on SpeedAdmin and use the secure online payment facility to make a payment by direct debit.

I do not own an instrument. Can I hire one?

We have a large variety of instruments available to hire, as part of our instrument hire scheme. The cost of the instrument hire scheme is a one-off £30 payment for the school year, payable when you receive your instrument. Generally, we have instruments available across most sizes and types.

Can I learn more than one instrument?

Yes, you can learn as many instruments with us as you like. However, if you are starting off with your first ever musical instrument, we recommend focusing on that to begin with, before diving into the rest of the instrument cupboard!

Do you have Parents’ Evenings?

We host Parents’ Evening sessions on Zoom each term. Exact timings for next year are yet to be decided, but you should hear from your Music Associate tutor towards the end of each term offering you a number of available options.
